Rekha Thapa went to late Shiva Regmi’s house

Actress Rekha Thapa went to the house of Nepali film director, late Shiva Regmi’s home in Chitwan to pay tribute to the deceased soul. On the day Shiva Regmi died, Rekha was in Hong Kong preparing to return back to Nepal after the successful screening of her movie, ‘Kali’. In a Facebook message Rekha had offered her condolences. -

Binita Baral sells organic vegetables at Trishara Hotel, Lazimpat -

Actress Binita Baral is currently (on December 14, 2013) selling organic vegetables, she has grown herself in her farm, in a hotel in Lazimpat. Binita and the team is stationed at Trishara Hotel, located near the French Embassy. -


On Saturday, Binita remains at the site from 11 AM to 2 PM.

Sumina Ghimire replaced by Anu Shah in Laxman Subedi’s Euta Sathi -

The producers of upcoming movie ‘Euta Sathi’ have replaced actress Sumina Ghimire by another actress, Anu Shah. According to the producer Laxman Subedi, the change was a result in a new twist in the story. Sumina had previously worked in ‘Star’, a movie in which Laxman was one of the investors.

Although the film unit claims the role of the character Sumina was supposed to do has increased and Anu was better fit for the role, there are suspicion of relationship problem with the film unit. Although Anu Shah is regularly participating in workshop, Sumina wasn’t in contact with the film unit.


The movie to be produced by Shovit Basnet and made under the banner Salon Films is going to floor by the end of the month. The script of the movie is written by Sushil Pangini, music of Tanka Budhatholi, and cinematography of Ganesh Kumar Shrestha. The movie features Salon Shrestha, John Tamang, Rista Basnet, Karishma Shrestha, Shovit Basnet, Rupa Rana, Narayan Puri and Anu Shah in main roles.

Rekha Thapa turns 30, formal disclosure of her organization Soch Pariwartan Nepal

Rekha Thapa, a bold actress and a producer has turned 30 from Yesterday. Organizing a special event in Kathmandu, Thapa, celebrated her 30th birthday accompanied by few media persons. She apologized to the journalists for her reactions against them in the past. She considered herself  just a kid until her late 20s, and now, turning 30 has made her an adult filling the sense of wisdom on her mind.

She said " Maile Janera ya najanera yas aghi kehi galti gareko bhaye ma sabai patrakar haru sanga maafi magna chahanchu . Hijoko dinma mero umerako bachpanale garda ma bata truti huna gayo hola, kasai sanga mero chitta dukhai chha bhane pani maafi magna chahanchu". 
At the very moment, Rekha, also formally disclosed about her chiefship of the organization 'Soch Pariwartan Nepal(SPN)'. SPN is taking care of the the basic needs of armed-conflict-affected children for last two years. At the moment, the organization is looking after the education, health, food, clothing, and shelter for three kids. Organization is taking care of 10 year-old Biratar Chuadrai (Dang), Pramod Pun and Salikgram Rokka from Rolpa. Free education to this kids is provided by Kamana Higher Secondary School. 
Thapa is expecting 20-25 kids in the organization in another 10 months.

Movie Review – Mahasush

Nepali movie ‘Mahasus’ was released all over the theatres of Nepal on August 16, 2013. ‘Mahasus’ is produced by Kalyaan Ghimire and directed by Nawal Nepal . The movie features Aryan Sigdel, Keki Adhikari, Benisha Hamal, Nir Shah, Rashmi Bhatta, Apsara Ghimire, and Rabindra Khadka in lead role. ‘Mahasus’ is advertised as a complete clean and family entertainer movie.

Story

‘Mahasus’ is a love story of a business man Bisow (Aryan Sigdel). Biswo is a successful businessman and Bidhya (Benisha Hamal) is his secretary. Bisow proposes Bidhya for marriage and she accepts. But the tragedy starts when Bisow knows Bidhya’s medical condition. Both of Bidhya’s kidneys had failed and she the doctors had estimated her to live a maximum of six months. To save Bidhya’s life, a poor and innocent girl named Gauri (Keki Adhikari) donates her kidney. After the incident, the love story gets new turn when Bisow provided support to Gauri and Bidhya started to get jealous of Gauri. I don’t want to kill excitement of watching movie by revealing what happens next to Bidhya and Biswo’s love story. It’s worth knowing the story by going to theater to watch the movie.

Strength and Weakness

In contrast to the current trend of sex-oriented movies, ‘Mahasush’ is a relief in being a neat and clean movie that can be truly be watched with family. All the dialogues and scenes are clean and don’t make one uneasy while watching with family members. The love story movie is smooth and revolves around a family.

The cinematographer, Divya Raj Subedi, has done an appreciable work and it is one of the plus points of the movie. Suresh Adhikari’s music is good although, none of the songs might be remembered for long. The dialogues are simple and are also funny at some places. Background score by Alish Karki is also good.

Nawal Nepal’s screenplay is focused mostly to city-dweller audience. Although the movie is a simple love story, the director has failed to impregnate emotions in the right place. For example, a girl dying in six months, Bidhya, doesn’t share such an important aspect of her life to her soon to be married boyfriend. There are few other unrealistic scenes in the movie that look out of place.

Star Cast

‘Mahasus’ is the love story of Bisow, a character played by Aryan Sigdel. This role is similar to the one Aryan Sigdel had done in his previous movies like ‘I am Sorry’. Aryan has done justice to the character he has done in the movie. Benisha Hamal has also done justification to the character of Bidhya. Benisha has shown that she has a lot to give to the Nepali movie industry in her upcoming projects.

The main attraction of the movie is Keki Adhikari’s performance. Keki’s performance is one of the best parts of the movie and she has done an awesome job. Keki has done such a good performance that whether one likes the movie or not but, there is a high chance that Keki’s performance will get a thumbs up. Nir Shah in the role of a doctor and the father of Bisow has also done good job, as usual.

Conclusion

‘Mahasus’ is an average love story movie. The movie could have been above average if the director had avoided some mistakes. ‘Mahasus’ is a movie to watch with family. If you like Keki Adhikari in any way, you shouldn’t miss her performance in the movie.

Actress Nisha Adhikari appointed brand ambassador of E-20 car

Nepali actress Nisha Adhikari is selected the brand ambassador of environment friendly Mahendra car E-20. In a ceremony held in Hayat Regency Hotel, Nisha started the sales of the car in Nepal. In the program, journalist Kunda Dikshit bought a car and became the first owner of the car in Nepal.

Nisha said, "It was an awesome experience to be announced the official brand ambassador for E20."  Talking about the benefits of the car, Nisha says, "It has the most amazing apps and is a perfect vehicle for Nepal."


Nisha adds, "Kunda Dixit, was the first buyer and declared that just writing about environmental issues and not implementing them in his own life would make no sense hence he had been driving electric since a long time and loved the new features of e20. The 3D projection (1st time in Nepal) was mind blowing."

Nisha also thanked ‘Cabi dai’ and the entire team of Mahindra and Agni Group for successfully launching the car in Nepal and running the program without any error.

Celebrities caught drinking and driving are driving without driving licenses

In a report in news24 television, Deepak Raj Giri and Deepa Shree Niraula were caught drinking and driving. After being caught their license and bill-book was confiscated by the traffic police. In addition to the ‘Tito Satya’ duo, licenses of other film personalities were also confiscated by the traffic and they haven’t received them back because of the police requirement for them to participate in an drinking and driving awareness class.

The report says that they were caught by the traffic on Chaitra 4, 2069 (March 17, 2013) at about 10:00 PM in Kathmandu. Deepa and Deepak was driving different car but were caught at the same location. After that, none of the ‘Tito Satya’ actors haven’t shown up in the traffic police station to take their license and bill-book.

Producer Chhabi Raj Ojha and actor Hemanta Budhathoki were also caught drunk driving and they also haven’t taken back their licenses. Chhabi Raj Ojha was caught drinking and driving on the New Year program. Hemanta was caught on Chaitra 2069.

Aryan Sigdel and Pooja Sharma in ‘Honeymoon’ in Lumbini

Actor Aryan Sigdel and actress Pooja Sharma are currently shooting in Lumbini. The shooting of a song for the movie named ‘Madhumas’ (Honeymoon in English) is undergoing in the area. After Lumbini the shooting team will head towards Palpa and Gulmi for the shooting.

According to one of the producers, Baburam Dahal, the shooting schedule is expected to last a week  before it returns to Kathmandu. The promotional song of the movie is being shot in the best location that can be found in the Western Nepal.


‘Madhumash’ features the music of Suresh Adhikari and Renasha Rai is choreographing the songs of the movie. The actors are featured on the designs of designer Poonam Chhetri. The movie is expected to release at the time of Tihar holidays (Kartik 15th).

Nepali movie ‘Mahasus’ is releasing on  August 16, 2013 in theaters all over Nepal. The movie directed by Nawal Nepal features Aryan Sigdel, Nir Shah, Keki Adhikari, Benisha Hamal , Mithila Sharma, Hiuwala Gautam, Rashmi Bhatta, Apsara Ghimire, Rabindra Khadka in leading roles.

Crew Background

‘Mahasus’ features Aryan Sigdel, Keki Adhikari and Benisha Hamal in leading roles. Because of a lot of flop films in last year, Aryan Sigdel’s  star power is in trouble. In the movie, Aryan Sigdel is featured as a lover boy. This is the second movie of Aryan with Keki Adhikari. Previously, they were appreciated in their role in ‘I Am Sorry’ but the movie wasn’t successful commercially. Keki and Benisha Hamal are also seen together for the second time. Benisha and Keki started together in their debut movie ‘Swor’. Although ‘Swor’ wasn’t successful, both Keki and Benisha have been successful in winning the the heart of their audiences. Noted actors Nir Shah and Mithila Sharma are also featured in the movie.

The director of the movie, Nawal Nepal, came into limelight from ‘Shreeman’. The movie did a good business and received good response from critics and audiences. Nawal makes family oriented movies and ‘Mahasus’ is also a heart touching story addressing social issues of our society.

Movie and media response

‘Mahasus’ seems to be a clean and family oriented movie based on the promotional videos of the movie. The movie also features melodious songs and we can hope for the good content in the movie. Based on Nawal Nepal’s previous movie,  here is a high chance that the movie is good enough.

In media, the movie ‘Mahasus’ has got some good responses. The promo videos are also well received. Although the movie might be good, it might have hard time competing with two big Bollywood movies being released in major multiplexes in the valley.
